The American Federation of Labor (AFL) was a federation of trade unions in the United States of America. It merged with the Congress of Industrial Organizations in 1955 to form the AFL–CIO.

History

William Green succeeded Samuel Gompers as leader of the AFL in 1924 and rejected revolution in favor of class collaborationism.[1]
