The Azanian People's Organization (AZAPO) is a South African national liberation movement and a political party founded in 1978 by militants inspired by the Black Consciousness Movement. Throughout its history, the party remained consistent in its opposition to aparthied and white economic dominance in South Africa.[1] According to the constitution of AZAPO, the party calls for land reform, the destruction of neocolonialism and capitalism and the establishment of a socialist South Africa.[2]
