More actions
In my dotage I'm finishing up a book that seeks to accommodate contemporary fundamental physics and orthodox Marxism-Leninism. Very simply, because everything is in fact a process, action aiming to alter the trajectory of history in any fundamental way must be informed by a scientific understanding of process. All process theories to date have been idealist, and so the book sets out to develop a scientific theory of process. That is, it offers a vocabuliary and set of conceptions by which the mechanism of process is defined in operational terms. The book goes on to discuss the spatio-temporal localization of the matter in the perfect vacuum (the Big Bang). It moves to the rise of the domain of socies being, that of living organisms. Then the emergence of the human domain of species being in the Upper Pleistocene is discussed. The focus is the theory of socio-economic formations that arose from the application of the method of historical materialism to traces of the human past. The final brief chapter cosiders the kind of action implied the theory of socio-economic formations and under todays conditions focuses on democratic centralilsm.
