Jose Cortes is a Statesian socialist who ran for representative of California's 51st district. He is a member of the PSL but ran under the Peace and Freedom Party and Green Party's tickets.[1]

Domestic policy[edit | edit source]
Cortes opposes ICE and supports citizenship for all immigrants and refugees. He believes Black people and Native Americans should receive reparations for colonialism. He also advocates for rent control, defunding the police, public housing, legal abortion, free health care, and the creation of a national bullet train system.[1][2]
Foreign policy[edit | edit source]
Cortes and believes sanctions are a war crime. He called for shutting down all U.S. military bases and establishing a planned economy. He supports the Belt and Road Initiative.[1]
