Manetho (c. 4th century – 3rd century BCE) was an Egyptian priest and historian who lived during the Ptolemaic period. He published a history of ancient Egypt in Greek. His division of ancient Egyptian history into 30 dynasties is still used by modern historians. While his full text did not survive into modern times, parts of it were cited in surviving works by other authors.[1]
