The Negro Factories Corporation was one of several business ventures of the Universal Negro Improvement Association which aimed to foster, financially, the industrial enterprises of UNIA membership. At the time of its operation, the Negro Factories Corporation was in possession of three important factories in New York, as well as others in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston, ect. Partly inspired by Booker T. Washintgon, the Negro Factories Corporation was created in an effort to build and maintain black capital as well as promote industrial and commercial training within African communities.
