A Semite is a member of a specific ethnic, cultural, or religious group (e.g. Jews) or a speaker of one of the Semitic languages (e.g. Arabic or Hebrew). Although there are non-Jewish Semitic groups such as Arabs and Assyrians, antisemitism refers specifically to discrimination against Jewish people.
