I understand that the party has progressive elements, especially in its youth. But we shouldn't prevent ourselves from calling the leadership of the party what it is in fact: opportunist and revisionist (I don't think reformism applies to them either).
This is precisely what our article claims:
The Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) is a communist party in the United States currently under a reformist and opportunist leadership.
I would argue this is even the case of the Brazilian Communist Party, even though I have some familiarity with the organization.
