Universal African Legion

The Universal African Legion was a paramilitary organization of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League, of which the Commander-in-Chief was the President-General of the UNIA. In a US Immigration Department interview with Gabriel M. Johnson, who was Mayor of Monrovia and a member of the UNIA, it was disclosed that the Legion's main purposes was security work for the organization.
