The Youth of the African Democratic Revolution (JRDA) was the youth league of the Democratic Party of Guinea – African Democratic Revolution. According to Sekou Toure, prior to the JRDA's formation in 1958, youth associations in Guinea were based on racial lines, thus fueling contradiction among the Malinke, Soussou, Kissi, ect. The unification of these youth movements was done as a means of entrenching mass cooperation amongst youth and the entrenchment of a common African identity. The JRDA was the primary political, social and ideological mechanism of the Guinean youth, and held jurisdiction over local disputes such as petty theft among young Guineans. The organization sponsored and managed community events such as soccer games, balls and marching receptions. Ideological education was also encouraged and provided to its members.
