The Karelo-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic was a republic of the Soviet Union from 1940 to 1956.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1940, during the Winter War, the Karelian ASSR was turned into a Soviet Socialist Republic.[1] In 1956, it was demoted back into an ASSR.[2]
