Parnavaz I Parnavaziani (c. 329 BCE – c. 237 BCE) was the founder of the Parnavaziani dynasty of Kartli. He defeated the previous ruler Azo with support from Egrisi and declared himself king. He built his capital of Armazis-tsikhe directly across the Kura river from Mtskheta, the former capital under Azo.[1]
