The Somali Democratic Republic was the socialist administration of Somalia ruled by Siad Barre and the Supreme Revolutionary Council and the Somali Revolutionary Socialist Party from 1969 to 1991. It consisted of current day Somali borders and succeeded the Somali Republic.
