MAGA movement

From ProleWiki, the proletarian encyclopedia
(Redirected from Trumpism)
Donald Trump, namesake and figurehead of Trumpism.

The Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, also sometimes referred to as Trumpism, is the neo-fascist political movement led by and cult of personality surrounding Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the United States. It is the dominant faction within the Republican Party. The movement, which is the culmination of the anti-establishment, anti-neoliberal, national conservative, and populist sentiment that has been building up within the Republican Party since the 1960s, represents a break from the previous line of the Party.

Trump's America First slogan is sometimes confused with isolationism, which Trump does not advocate for. America First proposes that the United States should be independent from international treaties and obligations and be able to act unilaterally against the rest of the world.[1]
