Ahmad Husayn ash-Shar (born 1982), better known as Abu Muhammad al-Jawlani, is a Saudi jihadist and leader of the Organization for the Liberation of the Levant. He was previously the leader of the Front of the Supporters of the People of the Levant, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda. In 2013, the U.S. government called al-Jawlani a "global terrorist" and offered a $10 million reward for his capture. In 2024, the USA, Turkey, and Israel helped al-Jawlani take over Syria and overthrow Bashar al-Assad.[1]
