Moms for Liberty is a billionaire-funded[1] homophobic group in the United States that is connected to QAnon and Ron DeSantis.[2] It claims that teaching LGBT acceptance to children is "grooming".[1] It also opposes mask mandates. Co-founder Bridget Ziegler is connected to the Proud Boys.[2]
Book bans[edit | edit source]
11 people were responsible for 62% of 2,571 book ban requests in 2022. Most of the targeted books support LGBT+ or portray non-white youth positively.[2]
Funding[edit | edit source]
As a 501(c)(4) organization, Moms for Liberty does not have to disclose who funds it and has no lobbying restrictions.[2]
