The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) is the military of the State of Israel. Along with its predecessor, the Haganah, it is responsible for the ongoing colonization and genocide of Palestinians. Military service is mandatory in Israel, and people who refuse to join the IDF may spend months in prison.[1] The IDF's current Chief of Staff is Herzi Halevi.[2]
War crimes
In 2008, the IDF killed close to 1,500 unarmed civilians in Gaza during Operation Cast Lead. During an assault on Gaza in 2019, the IDF killed more than twenty people, including several children.[2]
