Jeremy Bentham (15 February 1748 – 6 June 1832) was a liberal English philosopher during the Enlightenment who supported imprisoning children of the poor and making them marry young in order to create more workers.[1] He advocated for gradual emancipation from slavery which would free 10% of slaves whenever the heirs of their owners inherited them.[2]
