Residente is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer and songwriter who studied in the United States. His songwriting has been criticized for spreading pro-imperialist narratives.[1]
Residente maintains left-wing aesthetics and supposedly opposes settler-colonialism and capitalism, while still slandering actually existing socialist states such as Cuba and Nicaragua.[1]
