Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz is a Statesian historian, author, feminist, and anticolonial activist. She is most known for writing An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States.[1]

Early life[edit | edit source]

Dunbar-Ortiz grew up in rural Oklahoma. Her father was a tenant farmer and her mother was part Cherokee. She received a PhD at the University of California at Los Angeles.[1]
