Omar was involved in the U.S. overthrow of anti-imperialist Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed. In 2011, Omar met with Paul Kagame, a war criminal and the president of Rwanda.[1] She later voted against a resolution to free Rwandan political prisoner Paul Rusesabagina.[2] She supports the Tigray People's Liberation Front, which invaded Eritrea.[1]
