Ilhan Abdullahi Omar (Arabic: إلهان عبد الله عمر; born 4 October 1982) is a Statesian politician and member of the House of Representatives from Minnesota. She is also part of the Squad, which promotes some progressive policies but still supports Statesian imperialism.

Anti-communism

Omar co-sponsored a resolution to designate 23 August as Black Ribbon Day in order to "recognize the victims of Soviet and Nazi regimes."[1]

Imperialism

Omar was involved in the U.S. overthrow of anti-imperialist Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed. In 2011, Omar met with Paul Kagame, a war criminal and the president of Rwanda.[2] She later voted against a resolution to free Rwandan political prisoner Paul Rusesabagina.[3] She supports the Tigray People's Liberation Front, which invaded Eritrea.[2]

In November of 2023, Omar voted in favor of a resolution equating opposing State of Israel to antisemitism. The resolution also affirmed Israel’s supposed right to exist.[4]
