Thomas Robert Malthus (13/14 February 1766 – 29 December 1834) was an aristocratic philosopher and founder of Malthusianism. He believed unchecked population growth would lead to mass starvation and blamed workers for economic crises. His theories were proven incorrect as industrial agriculture created higher crop yields.[1] His theory was used to justify wage slavery and exploitation.[2]
