Shinzo Abe was the Prime Minister of Japan from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2020. He was the leader of the right-wing Liberal Democratic Party. He was assassinated on 2022 July 8.[1]
Political positions
Abe was a member of the ultranationalist organization Nippon Kaigi, which aims to remove Article 9 of Japan's constitution, which prevents Japan from having a standing army. Abe denies the war crimes of the the Empire of Japan and called for introducing U.S. nuclear weapons to Japan for use against China and the DPRK.[1]
