Pseudo-intellectuals are characterized by their attempts to achive a similar quality (or appearance) of intellectial thought with real intellectuals (often in various disciplines, such as science, sociology, and philosophy), but ultimately fails to have the same standards of true intellectials, commonly in factual accuracy. Pseudo-intellectuals nonetheless will commonly try to maintain the image of a true scholar, often by using their personal charisma, and/or exploitating their followers' ignorance on the given topic. Pseudo-intellectialism commonly uses or results in conspiracy theories, pseudo-science, and misinformation in general.
