Political positions
Abe was a member of the ultranationalist organization Nippon Kaigi (日本会議). He supported the introduction of U.S. nuclear weapons to Japan for potential use against China and the DPRK.[1]
Death
Abe was in relations with the cult Unification Church(统一教), accepting donations and providing political patronage to the cult. Yamagami Tetsuya's mother, who was influenced by the Unification Church, gave a large amount of funding to it and even sold her house in exchange of money.[To whom?] On July 7, 2022, when Abe was giving a speech in Okayama City, Tetsuya shot and killed Abe. His assassination was celebrated by many chinese and koreans.
