Simón Rodríguez (28 October 1769 – 28 February 1854) was a Venezuelan philosopher and the mentor of Simón Bolívar. He viewed education as a human right and believed it was essential for the creation of new anti-colonial republics in Latin America. He supported original thought against older teaching methods.[1]
