The Union of National Journalists' Associations (German: Union nationaler Journalistenverbände; UNJ) was an association of news organisations from Axis and Axis-aligned nations. It was founded in Vienna in December 1941 for the purpose of "combatting international press lies." Founding members included Germany, Italy (represented by Umberto Guglielmotti), Hungary (represented by Kolosváry-Borcsa Mihály), Romania (represented by Alexandru Gregorian), Bulgaria (represented by Belchev), Slovakia (represented by Aladár Kočiš), Croatia (represented by Kovačić), and Japan (represented by Sakuma Shin on behalf of Ōshima Hiroshi).[1] German-occupied Norway joined in 1942.[2] Wilhelm Weiss was the Union's President, at the suggestion of Guglielmotti. Gregorian served as its Vice President.[1] Maximilian Freiherr du Prel was appointed General Secretary.[3]
