Gender

Gender or gender identity is an intrinsic, deeply felt sense of self that may or may not align with sex assigned at birth. An internal sense of self that may or may not correlate with sex assigned at birth. Not to be confused with aesthetics ("clothing") or personal characteristics ("flamboyance", "boyishness"), nor to be confused with social role. While it can be expressed through aesthetics, roles, or characteristics, these external factors do not define it.
