Nekau II (died 595 BCE) was the second pharaoh of the 27th Dynasty of Egypt. In 608 BCE, he went to war against the Kingdom of Judah and killed its king Yoshiyyahu at the Battle of Megiddo. He ruled Syria and Palestine for three years and collected tribute in silver and gold before losing the territory to the Babylonians.[1]
