Jalal Al-e-Ahmad (2 December 1923 – 9 September 1969) was an Iranian politician and writer. He was a member of the Tudeh Party from 1945 to 1948 and supported Mohammad Mosaddegh's government from 1951 until the CIA coup in 1953. He coined the term gharabzadegi (Occidentosis) to describe the West's claimed superiority and its control over the Iranian comprador elite.[1]
