Georges Ibrahim Abdallah (born 2 April 1951) is a Lebanese and pro-Palestine freedom fighter and political prisoner.[1]

Political activism

In 1978, Abdallah was wounded during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon and joined the PFLP. He also founded the Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Factions, which fought against U.S. and Israeli officials in France.[1]

Imprisonment

In 1984, French forces arrested Abdallah while he was using fake Algerian and Maltese passports. In 1985, the LARF captured French diplomat Sidney Peyroles and then released him in a prisoner exchange 13 days later. However, before releasing Abdallah, French police raided his friend's apartment and found weapons used to kill the Israeli diplomat Yacov Barsimantov and U.S. soldier Charles Robert Ray. French authorities sentenced Abdallah to four years in prison in 1986 and then a life sentence in 1987. The trial convicted Abdallah based on evidence forged by Western intelligence agencies. He received a release order in 2013, but the French Interior Minister Manuel Valls refused to implement it. In 2024, French authorities ordered him to be released.[1]
