The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was a trade bloc comprised of Canada, Mexico, and the USA. It allowed imperialist corporations to privatize Mexican land, leading Mexican workers to be unemployed or work in sweatshops. In response to the formation of NAFTA, the Zapatistas rebelled in southern Mexico in 1994. In 2020, United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement replaced NAFTA, leading to further imperialist infiltration of Mexico.[1]
