The Supreme People’s Assembly (최고인민회의) is the unicameral legislature of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. It currently has 687 seats, most of which are held by the Workers’ Party of Korea. Members are elected for five-year terms, and the assembly elects a Speaker and Deputy Speaker to oversee its sessions.[1] The current Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly is Choe Ryong-hae.[2]
Elections
Any citizen of the DPRK aged 17 or older can vote unless they have been disenfranchised by a court or legally certified as insane.[3]
