Sweden Democrats (Swedish: Sverigedemokraterna, SD) is a fascist political party in the Kingdom of Sweden. It is currently the second-largest party in the Swedish parliament, the Riksdag.
History
Founding
The Sweden Democrats were formed on February 6, 1988 out of the “Keep Sweden Swedish” movement and was comprised of several racist and neo-Nazi groups.[1]
2022 election
In the 2022 general election SD gained 20.6% of the votes making them the second largest party in parliament with support only continuing to rise. Although the party has toned down its explicitly racist output since its founding, it still remains a far-right party pushing a clear anti-immigration agenda.[1]
