Discord is known to record all information on its platform.[3] It specifically states on its website that it collects users' email addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, names, IP addresses, device data, tracking data, chat messages, voice chat, images, videos, drafts, files, custom emojis, voice recordings, live stream information, payment information, logs of other open apps, and third-party data.[4] On their website, it also claims that this information can be sent over to law enforcement.[5] Through email, it has been confirmed that Discord receives government requests for user information.[6]
Censorship
Discord has censored many of its servers for violating their terms and conditions, including “spreading misinformation”, which is what GenZedong’s Discord was censored for.[7]
