Eric Leroy Adams (born September 1, 1960) is a Statesian politician and former police officer serving as the current mayor of New York City since 2022. He increased the New York City police budget by $11 billion while cutting funds for housing and education and increased state repression against Black and homeless people.[1]

Attacks on homeless people

Adams increased the number of police in New York's subways in order to arrest people for loitering or sleeping in train cars and cut the city's Department of Homeless Services by $615 million or 20%. He has also spread propaganda portraying the homeless as threats to society.[2]
