History

During the period of Shang dynasty, there were two kingdoms in Jiangsu: Wu and Xu.

During the Western Jin Dynasty, due to the endless wars in northern China, a large number of people migrated to Jiangsu, which brought great development to Jiangsu.

After the Xinhai Revolution broke out in 1911, Jiangsu also declared its independence from the Qing Dynasty.

In 1937, the Japanese army occupied Jiangsu Province. The Nanjing Massacre was carried out in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province and the capital of the Republic of China
