Juan Gerardo Guaidó Márquez is a USA and NED-backed Venezuelan politician and coup leader who claims to be the President of Venezuela, a title actually held by Nicolás Maduro.[1]

Early life[edit | edit source]

Guaidó moved from Venezuela to Washington, D.C. in 2007, where he studied under a former IMF director at George Washington University. After returning to Venezuela, he founded the right-wing Popular Will party.[1]

Coup attempts[edit | edit source]

In 2014, Guaidó organized student-led riots that killed 43 people. He killed civilians by stretching steel wire across roads. He organized more riots in 2017 that killed 126 people, including many Chavistas. He went back to the United States in 2018 to organize protests against Nicolás Maduro.[1]
