Lazar Moiseyevich Kaganovich was a Soviet politician and the last-living Old Bolshevik.

Political career

During the October Revolution, the Central Committee assigned Kaganovich along with many other Bolsheviks to direct the revolution in the countryside.[1]

During the Russian Civil War, Kaganovich led the struggle against anti-communist forces in Central Asia.[2]
