PROFUNC is an acronym for "Prominent Functionaries of the Communist Party". It was a top secret contingency plan developed by the Canadian Government to give the Canadian police (RCMP) authority to mass arrest communists and suspected communists in the event of a third world war.
The program lasted from 1950 to 1983.
