Pragmatism

Pragmatism is the idealist belief that nothing is real except individual perceptions. It originated in the United States in the 1870s and is rooted in empiricism, individualism, spontaneity, and opportunism. Pragmatism rejects theory and universally applicable laws in favor of practice alone.[1]
