The useless class is a sinister phrase describing people displaced by technological unemployment due to automation.[1][2] The phrase was coined by Yuval Noah Harari and is promoted by the World Economic Forum.
This development is an example of the mode of production (automation) becoming to advanced for the existing relations of production. (where the machines are privately held by capitalists)
The solution, therefore, is a new relation of production, where the robots are owned by society, so that society can take robotically-generated profits to provide for everyone's basic needs. Such a highly automated society could become highly prosperous.
