(Redirected from CORE)
The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) is a New Afrikan civil rights organization in the United States.
Infiltration[edit | edit source]
Using a fake surname, the FBI-connected NYPD officer Ray Wood pretended to be a law student at Fordham University and infiltrated CORE's Bronx chapter in 1964. He became housing chairman and persuaded Chairman Herbert Callender into making a citizen's arrest of Mayor Robert Wagner for discrimination and corruption. He falsely told Callender that the citizen's arrest was legal.[1]
