China Central Television

China Central Television (中国中央电视台) is the national television network of the People's Republic of China. It is is a ministry-level institution directly under the State Council. It provides news, education, entertainment, and information services.

China Central Television was originally called Beijing TV, and was officially broadcast on September 2, 1958, and was renamed CCTV on May 1, 1978.
