Dipa Nusantara Aidit (30 July 1923 – 22 November 1965) was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Indonesia from 1951 until his murder in 1965. He believed Indonesia was not developed enough to have a revolution, so he collaborated with the national bourgeoisie and Sukarno.[1] He defended Stalin while criticizing the later USSR for its reduced support of national liberation movements. In 1965, Colonel Yasir Hadibroto murdered Aidit on orders from the CIA and Australian secret police.[2]
