Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye (born 25 March 1980) is a progressive pan-Africanist and the current president of Senegal since 2024. In 2024, he ordered the French military to leave Senegal. He also wants to improve relations with Russia and abandon the neocolonial CFA franc.[1]

Faye was released from prison only 10 days before the presidential election in March 2024.[1]
