@Emby I was able to find information in the original French.

First published: Paris, 1954 (posthumously)

cover picture: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41kOijMAI2S.jpg

Editing house: Editions Sociales

Type: textbook

It was never really "written" by the author as it was based on notes his students took from his lessons. Politzer was killed by the nazis during the war and so he never got to publish his courses.

English sources for this book are very hard to find. Note that they also published Elementary principles of philosophy which read more like a book than the Fundamental textbook. Elementary is easier to find in English. IIRC Forte was actually translating Fundamental to English himself. I can get you a French PDF probably if we want to look that as a source, maybe write it down as "Translated from the [[Original]]".
