Luigi Nicholas Mangione (born May 6, 1998), nicknamed the Adjuster, is the alleged assassin of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Many workers celebrated the assassination.[1] A fundraiser has collected over $181,000 for his legal defense.[2]
Brian Thompson assassination[edit | edit source]
Brian Thompson was assassinated on December 4, 2024, in New York City. Mangione has been identified as the alleged shooter and was captured at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania.[1]
Legal charges[edit | edit source]
The NYPD escorted Mangione to a federal prison in New York on December 19. New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Mangione with first-degree murder and terrorism.[1]
