Paleoconservatism is a right-wing to far right political ideology in the United States of America, and a major faction of conservatism in the country. It stresses extreme social conservatism (such as opposition to civil rights, LGBT+ rights, feminism, and secularism), isolationism, nativism, protectionism, christian nationalism, and sometimes white nationalism.
There is somewhat of a divide in right-wing spaces, between paleoconservatives, and the more economically liberal neoconservatives, who are firmly pro free trade, as opposed to protectionist. Neoconservatives are typically very supportive of Statesian imperialism and intervention overseas, and tend to support Israel, whereas most paleoconservatives reject foreign interventionism, considering it antithetical to Statesian interests.
